Common questions
- Do I have to pay to try it?
- No. The app is free to download and every new account gets a 14-day free trial with full access. No credit card is required to start the trial. After the trial, the Active Book subscription is $4.99/month if you want to keep adding and exporting.
- Why is the App Store asking for a payment method?
- Apple requires every Apple ID to have a valid payment method on file before any download — even free apps. You can choose “None” as your payment method in iPhone Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping. Selecting “None” lets you download the app and start the free trial without being charged.
- What happens after the free trial?
- After 14 days your book becomes read-only unless Active Book is active. You can still view all of your existing memories; adding, editing, and exporting requires the subscription.
- Can I cancel the subscription?
- Yes — cancel anytime from your account. Your entries stay safe, and you keep access until the end of the billing period.
- Who handles billing?
- Payments are processed by Stripe. See our refund policy for details.
- How much does shipping cost for the hardcover?
- Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination. You'll see the total before you confirm your order.
