This Privacy Notice describes how WYCO Ventures Group LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), operator of Senior Year Through My Eyes (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares personal data. We act as the data controller for the information we collect about you.
Information we collect
- Account data — name, email address, password hash, authentication provider (e.g. Google).
- Profile and book data — student name, graduation year, school year, book title, and other content you choose to add.
- Media — photos and audio recordings you upload.
- Transcripts and reflections — text you type, or text our AI generates from your voice recordings.
- Order data — when you purchase a digital export or printed book, we receive transaction metadata from Paddle (no full card numbers).
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser, device identifiers, pages visited, and basic telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Support communications — emails you send us and our responses.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: store your content, render previews, transcribe audio, generate exports, and produce printed books;
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- To process transactions and provide receipts (via Paddle);
- To send transactional emails (sign-in confirmation, password reset, order updates);
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse;
- To improve the Service and fix problems;
- To comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases
Where required by law, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Service you signed up for;
- Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent fraud, and improve our product;
- Consent — for optional features that ask you to opt in;
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws.
How we share your information
We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:
- Infrastructure providers — Lovable Cloud / Supabase (hosting, database, storage, authentication).
- Payments — Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for checkout, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Print fulfillment — Lulu Press for producing and shipping printed keepsake books, when you order one.
- AI processing — Lovable AI Gateway for audio transcription and reflection drafting.
- Email delivery — our email infrastructure provider used to send transactional and authentication emails.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
We retain your account and book data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, financial records) for legal or accounting purposes.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may exercise these rights by emailing support@senioryearchronicle.com. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging, to protect your personal data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to safeguard cross-border transfers.
Children's data
The Service is intended for adults (typically parents and guardians) documenting a student's school year. If you upload photos or recordings of a minor, you are responsible for having any consents required by law in your jurisdiction.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
